Important Update for Creating a Connected App

Salesforce has introduced a new section calledĀ External Client Apps. If you can't find the "New Connected App" button using the old method, please follow these steps first:

  1. From SalesforceĀ Setup, use the Quick Find box to search for "External Client Apps".
  2. Under the "External Client Apps" heading in the navigation menu, click onĀ Settings.
  3. On the "External Client App Settings" page, find theĀ Connected AppsĀ section.
  4. Make sure theĀ "Allow creation of connected apps"Ā toggle is switched to theĀ OnĀ position.
  5. Click theĀ New Connected AppĀ button.

You can now proceed with the rest of the instructions in this guide to configure your Connected App.

Connect Salesforce to ArcSite

  1. Log in to ArcSite user site, and go to the following Integrations - Apps page, click "Connect to Salesforce" button, and fill in required information.

    1. Domain: by default is login.salesforce.com . For most case, it doesn't need change. If you want to connect to Salesforce Sandbox environment, set to:test.salesforce.com.

    2. Fill in Consumer Key and Consumer Secret of Connected app just created.

      Steps to get the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret:

      • Go to "App Manager",select the Connected App,Click "view" button from the dropdown list.

      • Find the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret.

  2. Click "Save" and a Salesforce log in page will pop up. Fill in your credential and it will come back to API & Service page automatically when succeed. If you see "Salesforce Connected" text, it means the connection is successful.

Generate ArcSite OpenAPI Token for Salesforce

The ArcSite OpenAPI uses API tokens to authenticate requests. You can view and manage your API tokens by visitingĀ the ArcSite web UI.
