This document is to introduce a standard Integration between Arcsite and Salesforce.

Salesforce External Client App setup

Salesforce has replaced Connected Apps with External Client Apps, and new Connected Apps can no longer be created. Follow the steps below to create an External Client App for ArcSite. You only need to do this once per Salesforce org.

• Create "External Client App" in Salesforce
• Check "Token Refresh Setting"

Connect Salesforce to ArcSite

1. Log in to ArcSite user site, and go to the following Integrations - Apps page, click "Connect to Salesforce" button, and fill in required information.

   

   1. Domain: by default is login.salesforce.com . For most case, it doesn't need change. If you want to connect to Salesforce Sandbox environment, set to：test.salesforce.com.

      

   2. Fill in Consumer Key and Consumer Secret of the External Client App just created.

      Steps to get the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret:

      • Go to "External Client App Manager", open the ArcSite External Client App, go to the "Settings" tab and expand "OAuth Settings".

      • Click "Consumer Key and Secret" to reveal and copy them.

        

2. Click "Save" and a Salesforce log in page will pop up. Fill in your credential and it will come back to API & Service page automatically when succeed. If you see "Salesforce Connected" text, it means the connection is successful.

   

Generate ArcSite OpenAPI Token for Salesforce

The ArcSite OpenAPI uses API tokens to authenticate requests. You can view and manage your API tokens by visiting the ArcSite web UI.

Click the Generate new token to generate a new token for Salesforce

Fill in the Description:

Please store the access token and it will be used in salesforce custom settings.
